GISF002 Statistics for Business and Economics (연구방법론)
The purpose of this course is to provide basic tools to understand and analyze qualitative and quantitative data, thus helping students acquire fundamental and important knowledge of statistics for their research and business. This course introduces basic concepts and theories of statistics, and applies those statistics to actual business and economics data. Specifically, the course covers various topics including organizing variables, numerical descriptive measures, probability distributions, confidence interval estimation, hypothesis testing, and regression analysis.
GISF003 Int'l Economic Analysis (국제경제분석)
This course introduces two main branches of international economics: international trade and international finance. The course enables students to understand key concepts and evidence of international economic models and international economic policy tools as their applications to practice, so prepare for advanced courses in international trade and international finance programs. This course presumes that students have an overview of introductory micro and macroeconomics covered by Economic Analysis (GISE001).
GISF004 Econometric Analysis (연구방법론 Ⅱ)
This course offers introductory applied econometrics to students to be equipped with quantitative research methods. Students will practice data analysis with several examples in the context of international economics. It is strongly recommended for students who consider writing a thesis or doctoral study in the future. This course assumes that students have an overview of basic statistics covered by Statistics for Business and Economics (GISF002).
GISB101 International Negotiations (국제협상론)
This course enables students to understand the basic theories and concepts of negotiations and practice strategies and tactics of negotiations in the context of several cross-border negotiations such as international trade negotiations.
GISB102 International Business (국제경영학)
This course introduces students to the basic understanding of important topics discussed in international business. Topics covered are the operational, financial, and marketing activities of multinational firms in the international context. From an overview of international business environments to several case studies of international business ensure students build the essential business, academic and cultural skills necessary to succeed in international business.
GISB103 International Trade Policy and WTO (국제통상정책과 WTO)
This course focuses on the models and practices of international trade policy in the global economy and discusses trade policy issues in the context of multilateral trading arrangements, the World Trade Organization. This course assumes that students have an overview of international economics offered by International Economic Analysis (GISF003).
GISB105 International Trade Theory (국제통상이론)
This course enables students to grab a core theoretical background of international trade and trade policies for economic analysis on principal issues in international trade, including gains from trade, regional trade agreements, offshoring and multinational corporations, tariff and non-tariff policies, the political economy of protection, and others. It is strongly recommended for students who consider writing a thesis on international trade. This course assumes that students have an overview of international economics offered by International Economic Analysis (GISF003).
GISB106 Economic Law (국제경제법)
This course is to explore the legal framework of international economic relations. The course aims to study international legal rights and obligations of international economic treaties, focusing on the trade agreements of the GATT and the WTO. It covers topics including the historical background and the structure of the GATT/WTO as well as specific legal issues in trade dispute cases.
GISB107 Contemporary Issues in Int’l Trade (국제무역의 최근 동향과 쟁점)
This course examines the major contemporary issues in international trade. It aims to equip students with analytic skills and background theories necessary to understand global trade issues. It deals with the theory and practice of unilateralism, bilateralism, regionalism, plurilateralism, and multilateralism. It focuses on the impact of the issue linkage and the formation of a "network of networks" on global trade architecture. Disruptions in global value chains by the US-China hegemonic war and the emergence of new technology will also be discussed.
