Profile

Sangjun Yea is a research fellow at the Trade and Investment Policy Team of the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP). He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from The Ohio State University, with research interests spanning international economics, industrial organization, and information economics.

At KIEP, his policy research focuses on foreign direct investment (FDI), global value chains (GVCs), and the digital economy. He has authored several policy reports, including The Reform of the WTO’s Appellate Body and Its Implications on Strategic Trade Policies, The Impact of the Digital Tax on the Foreign Investment of Multinational Enterprises, and The Role of Cross-Border e-Commerce in Shaping Global Value Chains, among others. In addition to his published research, he has participated in multiple government research projects.
