Profile

Yoonsok Lee is currently a Lecturer at the Graduate School of International Studies at Sogang University and a Senior Research Fellow of the Digital Finance Research Division at the Korea Institute of Finance. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He began his career at the Bank of Korea, where he worked as a portfolio manager in the Reserves Management Office from 1995 to 1999. He is a distinguished expert in the area of international finance, global expansion of the financial industry and financial hub strategy, cryptocurrency finance, North Korea finance, anti-money laundering and countering of terrorist financing (AML-CFT).
