Hyun-Dong Kim is a scholar in finance. He was trained at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (Ph.D. in Management Engineering, Finance Concentration), Louisiana State University (M.S. in Finance), Syracuse University (M.S. in Finance), and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (B.A. in Business Administration). Before joining GSIS of Sogang University, he taught finance and economic courses such as financial management, corporate financial policy, investments, and principles of economics at several universities. He has also served on the editorial boards of Korean Journal of Financial Studies and Asian Review of Financial Research. His research has focused on various corporate finance and investment issues including CEO characteristics, corporate governance, firm innovation, analyst forecasts, institutional investors, M&As, CSR/ESG, customer concentration, and insider trading. He has published papers in international journals including Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Business Research, International Review of Economics and Finance, Accounting and Finance, North American Journal of Economics and Finance, and Asia-Pacific Journal of Financial Studies.
