Facilities

Sogang GSIS has a wide range of university facilities available for its students. These modern amenities serve to support students with convenient spaces to study, as well as places to rest, promoting a sense of belonging at the university. All facilities except for the GSIS administration office are located in Jeonghasan (J) Hall (No.22 on the campus map).

Multi-Lab (J514)

The Multi-Lab is equipped with computers, printers, and scanners to help students carry out their assignments and other academic works. In this room, students can print and scan documents without fees, connect to the school internet, prepare class materials, etc. Multi-Lab is managed by student council members who sit there during working hours and provide support to students on any matter.

Café Library (J515)

A quiet and cozy study area that is reserved for GSIS students only. Cafe Library provides students with comfortable couches, desks, and books for their study and leisure. Students can enjoy delicious coffee from the student lounge and other beverages here; however, food is not allowed inside. This place is also equipped with a group study area, useful for team discussions during the semester.

Lounge (J502)

A space designed for GSIS students to spend their spare time, as well as to enjoy a good meal or a coffee during the break between classes. The lounge is equipped with various amenities including a coffee machine, microwave, refrigerator, water purifier, comfortable sofa, and a sink. Also, students are allowed to put their food and beverages in the refrigerator.

Seminar Room (J605)

A room designed for students to have meetings or group study sessions, as well as to take a break between classes. Students can use a round table, a recliner chair, and a comfortable sofa that can be found in this room. As in the cafe library, food (except for beverages) is not allowed.

Glass Board (5th floor hall)

Located in the main hall, the glass board serves as a special space for all students to express their thoughts or ideas freely through drawing or text. Student council usually uses this board as an open-message platform to share important announcements.

Classrooms

Sogang GSIS provides various types of classrooms, depending on the course and the number of students registered. Classrooms are located on the 3rd, 5th, and 6th floors of the J building, and each classroom is equipped with a computer and a projector.

Ph.D. Study Room (J519)
A study room reserved for Ph.D. students only. Their seats are assigned after submitting an application at the beginning of each semester.

TA Room (J506)

TA room is a space designed for students who work as teaching assistants. Other students are not allowed to enter this room.

Frequently Used Places for GSIS Students

Administration Building (University Headquarters)

Administration building is the main building at Sogang University, located in the middle of campus (No.3 on the campus map). In this building, GSIS students can use the One Stop Service Station located on the 1st floor to issue important documents such as a certificate of enrollment, academic transcripts, and the certificate of graduation, as well as register their student card to get the university access authorization.

Loyola Library

Loyola library is the main library at Sogang University consisting of 3 interconnected buildings (No.14 on the campus map). Students can find various books, periodicals, reference materials, PCs with an access to various databases, and plenty of study areas in the library.

GSIS Office


GSIS administration office is located on the 5th floor (room 509) of Kim Daegon (K) Hall (No.29 on the campus map). Students are free to visit the GSIS office for any academic issues or other inquiries.


Dormitory

he dormitory for international students is located in Gonzaga Hall beside the university back gate (No.18 on the campus map). See a website for further information: https://gonzaga.sogang.ac.kr

Gonzaga Plaza

Gonzaga plaza is a vibrant area for students to meet with friends and have a meal together during the break time. Located in front of the dormitory (No.20 on the campus map), this area offers various fusion restaurants, coffee shops, a food court, a convenience store, and a bookstore.

Back Gate

The back gate is the nearest university entrance for GSIS students (No.19 on the campus map). It is located close to Daeheung station (subway line No.6) and Ewha station (subway line No.2). There is also a bus stop located in front of the back gate and called “Sogang Back Gate”.
