Living Out my 20’s to the Fullest

(1) Please Introduce Yourself

Hey!

I’m Souljah, and I’m from the Philippines. I think it’s late for me to be a graduate student. But it’s better late than never, right?

My current MBTI test shows I’m an ENTJ which is really telling of why my friends call me an extrovert—sometimes too extroverted. The last 3 letters of my MBTI constantly changes so I can’t really say anything about that.

I prefer staying indoors watching my latest lores ranging from the NBA to music to dramas and to documentaries. If I’m out, it’s either to go to a coffee-shop or to visit a Kpop related events around Seoul. However, I’m always down for a great time when my friends ask me to go out—the only time I really go out.

As to my educational background, I earned my bachelor’s degree in Foreign Affairs from Silliman University in the Philippines. The Foreign Service Officers’—the exam to be a diplomat in the Philippines—requires either work experience or further studies to take the exam. This is when I decided to pursue a master’s degree in international relations at Sogang GSIS through the GKS Scholarship.

(2) Can you tell us the reason why you chose to study at Sogang GSIS?

I wanted to pursue a specialization in International Relations. However, most schools in South Korea focused on International Development and Cooperation. I took into consideration the courses offered at Sogang GSIS which was the reason why I decided to study at to Sogang. Additionally, Sogang GSIS’ tight-knit community reminded me of the community I grew up with. I felt the comfort in that.

(3) How do you usually spare time in Korea?

My interests range from coffee shops to Kpop, so I usually spend my time in coffee-shops—either new or old—or Kpop popup stores and concerts. Sometimes I like buying coffee from coffee-chains or trying out coffee in a new place, specifically coffee-shops with an aesthetic or a view. Coffee is one of the things that makes me happy. There is a coffee chain called Mammoth Coffee near the J-Building and I highly recommend their Salted Caramel Macchiato.
