Khati, Priyasha - India / International Finance

1. Please introduce yourself (background, interests, your MBTI, and so on)

Hello, My name is Priyasha Khati and I’m currently a 3rd-semester student at Sogang GSIS majoring in International Finance. My MBTI fluctuates between INTJ and INFP, and even though I relate to certain qualities of both I’d say I’m an INTJ 60% of the time. Like a true introvert, I keep my social circle small and love visiting museums, libraries, quiet beach towns and souvenir shops.

2. Can you tell us the reason why you chose to study at Sogang GSIS?

I was quite determined to pursue my Master’s degree in Seoul and started looking for the list of best universities the city can offer. Sogang University appeared on every list at a high rank, and also boasted a great academic curriculum for the course I wanted to study. I’m glad I chose Sogang GSIS, as the overall environment of the department is very comforting.

3. How do you usually spend your spare time in Korea?

Most of the time I either hang out with my sister or my friends from school. Some of my favourite pastimes are cafe-hopping, trying out new restaurants, buying accessories from those tiny overpriced street stalls, watching random busking events at Hongdae etc. Honestly, Seoul offers so many things that it’s difficult to point out all the things I do in my spare time.

4. Can you recommend your favorite place/spot in Seoul?

Ikseon-dong Hanok Street is a charming place which reminds me of a perfect amalgamation of old and new Seoul. There are many cafes around the area which make it even better!

Haneul (or Sky) Park during Autumn is also one of my favourite places to visit.

5. Any recommendations or know-how on life in Korea?

The obvious one would be to learn Korean language because it makes life much easier. Download Coupang and Papago. Another one would be to keep an open mind while living here and take one day at a time~

6. Can you share your most memorable experience at Sogang GSIS with us?

Seeing my friends' graduation was something that I’ll remember for a lifetime. It’s great to see people receive recognition for their hard work and discipline.

7. Do you have any advice for the prospective students at Sogang GSIS?

Sogang GSIS has a tight-knit community so you’ll always have someone to talk to or just discuss your queries with. The school upholds a strong dedication to academic excellence while also emphasising character building. If this sounds like a good fit for you, then you should definitely send in your application.
